((Oh, got it.))>
"No, I've never heard of any of these things. Whats a 'trick'?" Now is not the time for jokes, theres no way shes going to believe we're telling the truth now! "I think now is a great time for jokes. Oh, by the way, Clarrisa was it, if I say something that doesn't make sense in the conversation just ignore it. Nats learned that already... and I do know what a trick is, that was just a trick on you." Your credability is long gone, stop trying to save it. "So, could you explain just what these, auto-mobiles are.
Silvertip- 04-04-2008
"Nats?! Li, my name is Natalia or 'Talia. Do I look like a 'Nats' to you?" She glared at him, "Though if you're calling me that because you dislike my nicknames for you, just tell me, please!"
"Anyway..." Clarissa said, slightly startled. She hadn't known Natalia could be so loud! "A car... automobile, is... well, it is a fast way of getting from place to place. It runs on gasoline... or vegetable oil... or diesel fuel... and electricity. They have four wheels, and are usually made of metal... For the most part, you drive them on roads, because at high speeds a smooth surface prevents the car from shaking itself, or its passengers, to pieces."
"How fast do they go, exactly?"
"Well, most highways have a speed limit somewhere between 55 and 70 miles per hour... But most local roads have speed limits near thirty miles per hour. At least around here."
THIRTY MILES PER HOUR?! Anli exclaimed, FASTER?
"Wow... How fast do those 'airplanes' go?"
"Oh, over 400 miles per hour. They have to, you know, to stay in the air." Clarissa said this matter-of-factly, since to her it was no big deal. After all, she was used to the idea of moving really, really fast with littel or no effort on her part.
Natalia and Anli were silent, thinking to each other, though Clarissa didn't know it. Instead, she turned to Lysurus.
"Any more questions?" she asked him brightly. Only then did it occur to the girl that she was no longer bored, which isn't that surprising, really.
Qman3000- 04-04-2008
I thight she liked my nick-name for her. Lysurus thought. I told you she didn't, Rus. "Sorry 'talia, I'm ok with your nicknames though."
"Ya, I have some more questions. Whats an airplane?" He had completly missed when she had explained it to Natalia earlyer.
Silvertip- 04-06-2008
"I refuse to explain-" Clarissa began, exasperated. Anli looked up at the sky, her ears perked up.
What's that noise, 'Talia?
"Noise?" Natalia asked, looking at her familiar.
"Yes! Look there!" Clarissa exclaimed, pointing upwards. "That is an airplane!"((Sorry I didn't respond yesterday, I was busy doing spring-cleaning things))
Qman3000- 04-06-2008
((It's fine))
Lysurus looked up at the plane. "Wow, that things far away... up there. How many mages does it take to make an 'airplane' fly like that?" I'm not sure it's wind mages making it fly. "What do you mean, how else could it fly without flaping its wings?" I don't know, and it looks like Clarissa isn't going to explain.
Silvertip- 04-07-2008
"Erm... Mages? Like you two?" Clarissa pondered that for moment, "Uh- None, I hope. Otherwise an awful lot of people are lying and being lied to on a regular basis."
"Oh... About what?" Natalia asked, curious.
"Well... um... Laws of physics, scientific laboratories... Fairy tales... You know, stuff like that." She stood up suddenly, "But enough about everyday objects! Natalia's injured! We must get her medical care immediately!" She helped a startled Natalia to her feet. "Come! We shall walk and limp our way back to my house... And perhaps run..." she added, considering Anli pensively.((I got tired of that off-bluegreen color I was using. Please tell me if you cannot see the text of this post! :D  :D))
Qman3000- 04-07-2008
((I can see them fine))
"Are you ok? Jeez, I didn't even notice you got hurt. I think I've got some herbs to help with any pain, I think some to help heal faster too. Would you like some?" Hmm, your like a talking first-aid kit.
((... I don't really have time today to post longer, sorry this ones short.))
Silvertip- 04-10-2008
"Oh, no, Li, I'm fine, really." Natalia said reassuringly.
"She just sprained her ankle tripping over a very large root. She'll be fine. If she had gone straight to the hospital they wouldn't have given her crutches. Just ice and an Ace bandage. I can do the same at my home."
"Hospital? But I thought you don't have any Healers?"
"Well... As far as I know we lack mage-healers... but we have people trained to heal the sick and injured... We call them doctors and nurses..."
"Oh... Of course. Everywhere you go there are healers, even if they have no magical skill."
"Well, anyway, my house is just outside the woods. Luckily, we have few neighbors, so I probably won't have to explain why I brought two strangers with outlandish pets out of the woods with me."
"That isn't a regular occurrence?" Natalia asked seriously.
"Um... No, it never has been," Clarissa said, glancing at Natalia, who laughed.
She thought you were serious? What kind of image have we been presenting? Anli asked Natalia, surprised, Oh, and watch out for that rock.Well, I'd guess she thinks we are some very lost people, and their 'outlandish pets,' Natalia pointed out, stepping carefully over the rock that was attempting to trip her again.
I'm not sure I appreciate being called 'outlandish,' Anli grumbled.
Natalia smiled at the familiar, still giggling.
"I think I don't get your humor." Clarissa said, finally. "I'm going to talk to Li instead!" She turned to look at him, and wondered what on Earth she could talk to him about. He didn't even have any minor injuries for her to diagnose!((I'm sorry this one's a few days late! I didn't have much time for posting either!))
Qman3000- 04-12-2008
((Sorry I've been gone so long, my inernet is down))
PET!!! Did she jus call me your PET!?! "She didn't mean it like that. Come on, we should go to your house and get these two off there feet."
((I might not be able to get on again for a while. Bye))
Silvertip- 04-14-2008
"Well, we'll be there in a bit..." Clarissa reponded, wondering what 'she' didn't mean like 'that.'
'Talia, do you smell that? Anli asked suddenly.
Um, yes. What is it?I'm not sure. It smells... like water... but there's something wrong with i. I wouldn't want to drink it.Hmm... Let's watch for it. I can try that water-filtering spell I read about a few days ago. After all, we wouldn't want our new friend to get sick from dirty water...No... But it doesn't smell like dirty water, precisely... Anli said worriedly.
Don't worry; we'll figure it out, Natalia assured the coyote.
Clarissa, unknowingly, was worried about the same thing. However, in her case she was wondering if her mom had bought more chlorine for the pool, since they'd run out recently. Considering the pool brought her thoughts, in a leap of randomness, to the tornado air-sculpture Natalia had shown her.
"So... umm... Lysurus- Do you make any amazing invisible-unless-blindfolded artwork?" Clarissa asked finally, inspired, "'Cause if you do I'd love to see it!"
Qman3000- 04-14-2008
((I got my internet back, YAY!))
Lysurus snapped out of his conversation with Silver, "Umm, no. Thats Natalia's specialty. I'm not sure if anyone else can do it. I might be able to make something with some plants though." This I have to see, Silver thought. I'm confused, was that sarcasm or not? Lysurus wondered. You'll never know, Silver teased back.

((YaY!!! Working internet is a very good thing!:D))

"Scheiße! Ich hab mich verlaufen."
Spitting dirt and grass, punctuated by thick, germanic mutterings, a short man struggled up the far side of a small hill a few hundred yards away. His apparent consternation betrayed exactly the mindset that his sudden, unannounced arrival and his unusual appearance might engender in the mind of an unsuspecting observer.
His dirty blond hair stuck out at strange angles indelicate to the eye, and his long, thick-woven white cotton labcoat bore grass stains, and an inexplicable air of vintage about it. Adorning his face was an enormous monocle with a highly magnifying lens of cobalt blue glass, held on by a double-woven cotton headband in military green.
After taking in the sights from atop his vantage point, a good four or five feet higher than level ground, he set his eyes on the two mages and the local girl, and after taking a moment to regain his breath, he waved his hand enthusiastically, and called to them as he shuffled awkwardly down the hill. "Guter tag, freunde! Ich komme aus Deutschland, wo sind wir?" As he stumbled forward, his other hand into a coat pocket and withdrew a lumpy, irregular yellow rock, smooth and dark from handling, and worried it absently with his fingers.
(So this seems to be an open-genre crossover, I kinda feel like bringing in a mage of my own, though in this case one from White Wolf's mage setting, which has very different rules. He's a german energy physicist who was "employed" by Das Fuhrer, working on the bomb, just before WWII. He's not a nazi, just a scientist who was in the wrong country at the wrong time.)
Silvertip- 04-28-2008
"Um... Hello sir, I don't speak German?" Clarissa said, hopefully. She was pretty sure that "Deutschland" was Germany-in German. If she was lucky, he was merely a misplaced tourist, hopefully one who knew at least a little English.. At the very least he's a distraction! I don't have to awkwardly fish for something to discuss with Lysurus! she thought. It suddenly occurred to her that it was entirely impossible for this stranger to be a tourist, due to the complete anonymity of her hometown.
That didn't sound like any language you've ever heard, did it? Anli asked Natalia, mildly curious, he smells odd, too.No, it doesn't. Odd then, that Clarissa speaks our language and not his. Natalia mused. She examined the stranger carefully. I agree, Anli. There's something very odd about this person.
"So... Mister... Do you speak English at all? Or French? I know a little french-um- Parlez-vous francais? Comment vous appelez-vous? Je m'appelle Clarissa," she paused for a moment. Considering that she just decided he couldn't be a tourist she addded, "Um, you're in the United States of America. Les Etates-Unis?" She was at a loss if he didn't speak either language... though she had no doubt that it would be funny, if inefficient, to communicate in gestures and expressions.
((Oh sure, that's fine! In fact, the more weird things happen, the better!;))
Garuda- 04-29-2008
The man stopped walking and listened, blinking owlishly. He seemed unaccustomed to sunlight. He brushed some dirt from his knees as he considered his answer, and at length he shook his head and shrugged. "Keine Franzosen. Aber Sie sprechen Englisch. Ah... 'Hallo', da? I am... a Klaus. Good day!" He smiled broadly and sniffed his strange stone without warning, as if inhaling something, then proceeded to make his way towards the lot whom he addressed.
