Roleplaying Q&A (Questions on how to play!)

Some odd questions this time around. Is the River Ahnx that black line that sepeates Solum and Sei? Does the body of water between its west end and the ocean have a name? Are the two black dots in each country that are at the west end of the body of water port cities? (Possibly with heavy military presence?) Do you have the area directly below the body of water extremely well thought out? (Military placement, minor geological features, recent history, etc.) Would you mind me explictly defining how it was slightly over two years ago and saying that there was a large invasion attempt by Sei at that time? Can I declare that there was a werewolf-killing cult over 250 years ago? I would also like to be able to say that there was a fort at the north end of the Solum/Qhuchit border, just south the mountains seperating Sei and Qhuchit. I would also need for there to be foothills and a valley full of rosemary about a day's walk from there. What are the limits on creating npcs? (My story involves a female master healer on the Tellusian council of mage (who is also currently the best or one of there best healers alive,) her daughter(s?), an elite squad leader, at least a couple traitors, and the guy at the top of the military's mages, who comes off as a bit of a prig with a vindictive streak. There're more besides this but these are the ones that probably matter most. I should have asked this question far before now.) When a mage and his familiar get injured, does it matter who gets healed?

If or when my character is accepted, is there anything like transfers or vacations so my character can interact with the others as there are no people at the academy he is at. And just a heads up, you guys are kinda scary. Although that may just be me. :mrgreen: ... don't kill me please...

This is me, nerfing your rainbow. It burns my eyes. Yes, I imagine something can be arranged. As I recall ADK was interested in getting all the apprentice mages run through their novice -*test*-('")s so they'd be free to roam. As far as I know the ball is still in her court on that one though.

On an unrelated note, tell me about this scary thing. I don't recall having ever been scary before. Rumor has it I make a good chair, though.

Chair?... :?: I don't know why you are, but you guys are just scary. Thats probably me being nervous about how you guys are going to judge me when it comes to my character. Yea thats it. Yes. Apparently, I'm comfortable. I've been considering getting my stomach upholstered. What do you think of mocha microsuede? Sadly, ADK is feeling a little overworked just now, and she won't take an aspirin because she's hungry. Dragons are difficult like that. Ire, on the other hand, is AWOL. I intend to call her up for a performance review when she gets back. :evil: You'll probably have to wait a few days before you get the final OK, sorry to tell you. As for the character, don't sweat it, everyone goes through a bit of give-and-take with us before we're happy with the submission, it's just part of the process. ADK made me revise my character several times before I could start managing the RP forums. :P

We're always glad to get new people, and I'm happy whenever I see new RPers, especially when they don't post character subs like the one I linked to forumer.com/viewtopic.php?p=1760#1760>here. You passed that -*test*-('") with flying colors, so things are good. I probably shouldn't be self-promoting in a forum I'm sub-managing, but I'm working on a more RP-oriented PBP. If I ever get it done, I'll post a link for y'all and maybe you'll come see what I made.

Qman, I owe you a giant apology here. I mean, I already apologised to the masses in another thread but... *sigh* This giant delay is really my fault here, and I have deep regret about that. Garuda, if I were getting a performance review, I'd be SO fired. Fortunately for me, I'm a co-creator, so that firing thing's a little more difficult for you all. As for the "scary," why thank you! :D I take great pride in that fact. If, however, you're able to come up with any more specific reasons as to WHY, I'd love to hear 'em. No need to apologise, I am very patient and am just happy you got back to us. The scary thing was just me being new to both formus and RPing, so just the fact that I was talking to you all creeped me out. I'm over it though. I'll still say your scary if you want me to though.

I was wondering, in terms of meeting the other charachters people have made, is it possible to do something along the lines of studying abroad? For instance: tempararily going to Undaquinus Academy to study salt water plants and such.

Would it be possible for a journeyman to be assigned to his/her school? Like, say, if a student from Rusticus wished to become a teacher and stuck around to help younger students... Or if, building from Q's question, journeypersons wishing to teach or continue their studies could be traded amongst the schools, sort of like a student exchange program... Of course, I'm assuming that not all positions involve combat, defensive or offensive, but if I'm wrong please correct me...

I think the schools are a bit competitive, so I don't think that's likely. But, I'm no expert.

That's a very good question, both of you. I have to discuss this with ADK first, but know that you've been heard, and that we'll attempt to get back to you in a timely manner. In the meantime, what Spiritwolf said about the competitiveness between schools is indeed accurate. Whether or not that bars them from any sort of "exchange program," is yet to be determined though. (One of the things I have to check with ADK on.) I think certain schools such as Dimicatio and Optimates are either to proud or too elitist to allow any sort of mingling, but my own supposition would be that maybe Oron would allow that sort of brief study in the pursuit of true excellence... Then again, they might be just as proud, and thus, unwilling to go outside of their school to achieve said excellence. Heh. Gotta check with the Miss ADK on that one. But now you know that at least you're being heard. We'll try to get back to it soon.
