Good question! And yes, you got it right on the latter part, that as long as Raamah can read the language, Barak will be able to understand it, through their shared consciousness. However, Barak CANNOT read Solumian, or any other language for that matter, aside from Lunelines (which is the language of the werewolves; it's both a written and a spoken language, and is considered holy to them).
He can understand any spoken language though, as most werewolves know a spell (from their own werewolf brand of magic) that allows them to be able to do just this. It might take them a little longer to be able to SPEAK the language back, and they still cannot read any text written in the language in question, unless they take the time to learn how just as a human would. In Barak's case, he already spoke Solumian, hence his talking to Raamah in it upon their first meeting. Raamah is fluent all the three major languages of Cheled, thanks to Oron's rigorous academics, so while Barak might not be able to read them, Raamah can through his eyes.
Hope this answers your question. ;)

o_o Good explanation.
o(><)o I love the name Lunelines for a language. It's so... self-explanatory!
AuroraDragonKaya- 02-19-2007
Haha, thank you. ;3 (From both of us.)
If you know anything about the Ogham, that's the biggest base for the language. ^^
Silvertip- 02-19-2007
Yes, that answers my question, thank you!
Zigren- 02-19-2007
Hmmm...
I have another question.
What IS Raamah's favorite food? oO?
AuroraDragonKaya- 02-19-2007
Raamah's favorite food is chicken pot pie. ;3
Zigren- 02-19-2007
o('.')d Neat! He get's a thumbs up.
*Is having fun with emotes with hands as of late*

Hmm, I have a question about magic circles~
How are they formed? Do they just appear, or does the mage draw them in the air, or think about them, or what? oO?
AuroraDragonKaya- 02-19-2007
The appearance of spell circles is pretty much the manifestation of gathering power for a spell, with indications (in the form of symbols) as to what purpose the gathered energy will be put. The mage visualizes them first, and if they do it right, visible things start showing up, beginning with the seed of creation that usually forms in their palms (or elsewhere, which happens when creating multiple spell circles at once.)
Movement is not necessary, nor is placement, but it usually (such as in Raamah's case) helps the mage to focus. It's a lot harder for anyone below a well-practiced Adept to NOT use physical gestures when making a spell, as it becomes habitual. Mostly, though, all that's involved, is using the hands to "set the stage" for any particular spell. The main exception to this, of course, is a Master, who doesn't have to use spell circles at all.

Mm, that's some helpful knowledge @@ Especially for any mages in the roleplay.
Oh another something that's more of a novelty~
Above all of the god's head is a symbol, sun, three different moon phases, the symbol for infinity, and an eye. Are those any kind of holy symbol, or is it just away in which the god's are portrayed by their mortal worshipers?
AuroraDragonKaya- 02-20-2007
They're the holy symbols of the gods, each representing whatever god, in depictions and, supposedly, they're truly there. (Of course, how many people actually SEE gods to confirm this? ;P)
Irerising- 02-20-2007
Zigren, you're awesome. Just thought you should know that.
Zigren- 02-20-2007
o_o Uh... How's that?
So, its rather how the Egyptians portrayed their gods to have falcon and dog heads, even though nobody was ever actually every able to prove that they actually DID have falcon/dog heads?
AuroraDragonKaya- 02-20-2007
Your awesome for your enthusiasm and good questions. ;3
Something like that. ^.^ (Egyptian and greek were probably the biggest style influences on the gods, though they might turn a little hind looking with time... who knows. XD)
I think the symbols themselves might be more likened to the crowns the Egyptian gods always wore that corresponded to their own various symbols. (The solar disks, etc.)
Zigren- 02-20-2007
M'kay.
Oh, also, in the prologue, the magical object that Tzadik was given, there was a symbol on that as well, does that have any specific significance? Other than to just look neat that is @@;
