Zigren- 03-01-2007

The journeymen and uniform question was asked by myself earlier, and although it is not required most Journeymen keep their uniforms as more of a sign of respect, pride, and proof of their abilities(As in what school you graduated from). Another question, by the by, are there any other 'mythical' creatures in TaL besides Were's and Gryphons?(as you said 'Cheled doesn't really have' and it caught my eye xD)

Spiritwolf- 03-01-2007

oh, snap. thanks.

i also have another question, how much protection does the clothes the apprentices wear give?

AuroraDragonKaya- 03-01-2007

Sorry it took so long for me to reply. x.x;; Anyways, as for the questions... Werewolves live in caves, usually, that have slightly more architecture then a wolf's den but not much. Usually they have several places because they have large territory expanses. Most the time, they simply sleep under the stars. There are no other mythical creatures on Cheled, unless you count the gods. (Though I feel the need to note I adore the creatures of myth, there IS a reason for this.) An apprentice's clothes give.... about as much protection as they look like. ;P They're usually just cloth, some nicer then others but in the end, they aren't magical, sword and arrow deflecting, fireball deflecting wizards robes, just clothes. Some students DO carry enchanted objects. The silvery thing drooping from Oron Academy's uniform, aside from being the school symbol, is actually part of a final project in the necassary enchantment classes. Students are encouraged to use protection spells (Raamah made his boost energy, silly boy.)

oh, cool. heres another. do the schools have their own blacksmith shop? or do they place orders for the nearest blacksmith?

AuroraDragonKaya- 03-01-2007

Depends on the school. Dimicatio has its own blacksmith. Others get them custom made, though location isn't a factor of where they buy them from. Of course, usually the schools themselves dont't have an especially large weaponry... though I'd have to discuss that with Lara (she might disagree. **cough**)

Spiritwolf- 03-01-2007

what kinds of wepons do you see in Solum?

AuroraDragonKaya- 03-01-2007

Mostly think midieval western weapons; pikes, bows of various kinds, various swords/broadswords, spears, daggers, etc.

Spiritwolf- 03-01-2007

how about a short staff with blades on the ends?

AuroraDragonKaya- 03-01-2007

Both ends? It's definitely unusual, I think, though I suppose something like that could be custom made... the concept of it isn't TOO much of a jump from a spear type weapon. One would have to train themselves to use it, however, and it'd take them some time to master it. High chance of injuring oneself as well... but, imo, possible. (Of course, I might need to freshen up my mideaval weapon knowledge....)

Spiritwolf- 03-01-2007

i don't know. i got the idea from the book eragon, it's the wepeon that angela uses, so i thought it would be ok.

AuroraDragonKaya- 03-01-2007

Yeah, I see it a lot in fantasy/video games. However, I can't think of a weapon that its actually LIKE.... ^.^;; Also one of those weapons that look awesome but has a high self harm value, or so it seems like it'd be. I could be wrong, of course, I'm hardly an expert. ;3 As I said, though, definitely possible, if not very available.

Spiritwolf- 03-01-2007

hey, look at the flail! what was going through their heads when they came up with that?

Irerising- 03-02-2007

Um... swing a heavy thing around really, really fast and try not to hit your friends? (Or yourself...) 0_'

Spiritwolf- 03-02-2007

uhm, yea. that thing hurts when you accidentally hit yourself with it. believe me, i know. my uncle has one and he was practicing with it. long story short, he probably won't ever have kids. :(
