x_x I wish they gave Japanese at my school, then I'd be able to understand my grandma talking with Chieko(family friend). They'll be talking, and then turn on you and expect you to so totally know what they were saying! xP

Geometry's the least evil form of math, heh.
Japanese... ugh, that's insane. @_@;; I've taken it, a couple times....
...the same class, because I forget everytihng I've learned exceptionally quickly. ^.^;;

geometry eh? not bad. when i took the PSATs, i was in the 90th percentile ^_^
oh, i'm in algebra. i'm dreading calculus next year *whimper*
oh and hey, how did we get to talking about school subjects?
AuroraDragonKaya- 03-01-2007
I've been pretty good in english, usually not so much with math. Hate doing it whether I do well or not. x.o;;
Art, on the other hand... that's something worth spending time on. <3 I don't remember a time when I didn't like to draw, heh, though I didn't start improving until sometime around 5th - 8th grade ish.....
Though even in early elementary school, I know I carried sketchbooks around. XP
I just didn't start getting decent until high school- college.

I actually can't wait for AP Statistics, as I think that might ACTUALLY be useful in day to day life.

i'm alright in english and science, it is history i hate. i know it sounds weird from me, but i hate history. it always got on my nerves
AuroraDragonKaya- 03-01-2007
I think history can be a fantastically interesting subjects, but usually the way its taught leaves it boring and cruddy.
Of course, I've forgotten most my history too, heh.
The best class I've ever taken, of course, was without a doubt the Mythology class I took. One of the best teachers I've ever had, incredibly interesting, and introduced me to to Joseph Campbel.
Spiritwolf- 03-01-2007
oooh, mythology, there is something i could sink my teeth into
AuroraDragonKaya- 03-01-2007
I highly recommend "The Power of Myth" and "Hero with a Thousand Faces," both by Joseph Campbell, who studied mythologies of different cultures, especially the similarities in story format that came up again and again.

I SO beg to differ, lady. I loathed geometry. I mean, I'm pretty good at math; I get the concepts well and do well with patterns (which is all math really is), but geometry... *wrinkles her nose* If I wanted to make a bunch of shapes, I'd use the appropriate tool in an image editing program. Algebra, on the other hand. THAT works for me. Pretty, pretty formulas make me happy.
The most advanced math class I ever got to was Pre-Calculus, though, which I DIDN'T like, as it brought back a lot of geometry-like concepts. I hear Calculus gets better though.
Ironically, after that class, I took Stats, and that was pretty cool. I think every educated individual should take that kind of class at some point, so that they can exist in our current system as informed Americans. I mean, we get all this information thrown at us every day, in the guise of credibility, just because it's presented as "a poll shows that blah, blah, blah..." People don't know that those numbers they put so much stock in can be just as twisted as baseless claims.
...But I digress. Stats I enjoyed, as with Algebra. But geometry.... Not so much. Which is why I stick to what I'm good at: English!
Irerising- 03-02-2007
xD xD Naw, it just seems I'm more twisted than them.I don't know about that there... I mean, the original story of that is preeeeeeeeeetty damn screwed up. Let's just say it has its own explanation about the origin of werewolves... :shock:
Then again, the Grimm brothers were trying to clean up a lot of these stories so that they would be acceptable to Victorian audiances. (Who have to be possibly the most prudish folks of all time.) So I think I actually take that back. I still am not sure if you outdo the original version of the story as far as twisted goes, though.

x_x Dunno if I want to ask. But I do want to know; Who here supports cookies, and who here thinks Rootbeer kicks face?(One or the other, no option three.)
